Every year, Pierburg's production facilities manufacture over 17 million mechanical and electrical water pumps for motor vehicles and commercial vehicles of all kinds.
For example in the year 2018. Newly developed electric water pump of the type CWA 150 went into series production in a fully electric vehicle of a German premium manufacturer.
The electric coolant pumps of the CWA type (Coolant Water Aggregate) in particular make a significant contribution to reducing emissions in modern engine concepts. Their delivery rate, which is independent of the engine speed, enables demand-oriented and thus efficient cooling. This reduces the power requirement and thus reduces friction losses, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Electrical water pumps are also essential for the cooling of alternative drives, such as in hybrid and electric vehicles, or in future developments of fuel cell drives.
